To raise awareness for Men’s Mental Health Month, we dropped into some local pubs to help break the stigma around men’s mental health and to encourage others to talk about how they are feeling.
There’s a lot of stigma, secrecy, and reluctance cloaking the discussion of men’s mental health. Men sometimes aren’t comfortable reaching out and opening up about life’s challenges – or they think they’ll be burdening their friends if they do.
That’s why we have created these beer mats to reassure men that it’s okay to talk or seek help if they are experiencing reduced mental wellbeing. We believe it is so important to encourage anyone who identifies as male or a man to be able to talk about how they feel and seek help when they need it.
If you are in your local pub and see our beer mats, why not strike up a conversation with your mates and ask them how they’re doing? You never know how much it could help.
If any other pubs or bars in Falkirk would like some beer mats, please email community@fdamh.org.uk. We only have a limited amount so once they’re gone, they’re gone!

After a successful year of John Muir from the pilot in February, we end 2023 with some great news for both John Muir Group 1 and FDAMH!
Our new CBT for Menopause course gives you an opportunity to learn more about managing stress and anxiety, and how our negative thoughts can impact us physically, emotionally and behaviourally.
We feel so lucky to have such wonderful supporters at FDAMH and we’re excited to share some of their amazing stories!
