Did you know that almost ¼ of people in the UK say their mental health is worse during the winter months?
Winter can be difficult for many of us and our mental health. With dropping temperatures and shorter days, we might feel the need to sleep for longer, notice a change in our appetite, or find it difficult to do things we normally enjoy. At FDAMH, we want people to know that they are not alone in feeling this way.
We believe it is so important to encourage anyone to talk about how they are feeling and seek help when they need to. So, to represent our slogan – Light in a Dark Place – we organised a light installation to be placed in The Helix Park in Falkirk with the help of Lightways Ltd. Through this light installation, we hope to spread the message that there is hope out there even when your brain tells you there isn’t. For any passers-by who may be struggling, they can find all of FDAMH’s contact details at the light installation if they need any extra help over the winter period.
Show Your Support
At FDAMH, we offer free mental health support to people and families impacted by mental ill health in our local community. However, we couldn’t continue to do what we do without your support. Here are some ways you can help us help others:
There are many other ways in which people choose to support us and whichever way you choose we are incredibly grateful. If you would like to learn more about how you can get involved, please email us at community@fdamh.org.uk.

After a successful year of John Muir from the pilot in February, we end 2023 with some great news for both John Muir Group 1 and FDAMH!
Our new CBT for Menopause course gives you an opportunity to learn more about managing stress and anxiety, and how our negative thoughts can impact us physically, emotionally and behaviourally.
We feel so lucky to have such wonderful supporters at FDAMH and we’re excited to share some of their amazing stories!
