What is Social Spark?

Our Social Spark service helps to tackle loneliness and isolation by building confidence and connections. By providing a range of diverse community-based activity groups and one-to-one befriending support, we aim to improve social contact and encourage community connectedness.

Our team run a number of different groups including:

  • Creative Women’s Groups
  • Fishing Groups
  • Breakfast and Lunch Groups
  • Men’s Walking Groups
  • Creative Writing Groups
  • John Muir Awards

We’re also delighted to say that, with our new project worker in place, the Social Spark service have fresh activities to offer, including John Muir Awards, Mobile Phone Photography, History Group and Mindful Nature Walks.

❝ I dread to think where I would be if it wasn’t for FDAMH. Going to the fishing group got me out of the house and into the fresh air meeting new folk and having some banter. I was in a dark place before I got involved with FDAMH, but I can now sense when my mood is becoming low, and I have tools to help me not fall into a big black hole. I can’t thank you all enough.
